Welcome to WikiAir...
Before yesterday, you had never heard of the city you're in.

You’re hungry.

You’re thirsty.

You have 18 hours.

Where do you go?

[edit] WikiAir...the layover website that ANYONE can edit!

The goal here is to create an editable and totally free source of information for flight crews and business travelers worldwide. Over the years, many of us Road Warriors have compiled lists of things to do while laying over at cities worldwide. This web site can be a great resource where everyone can share their individual lists of things to see and do on the road.

We are running the same software that powers the enormously successful Wikipedia web site. This software allows anyone to edit the content of any page on the site, without even becoming a member!

We are not trying to duplicate Wikipedia or Wikitravel, the purpose of this site is different. We would like to see this site become the ultimate web resource for air travelers with a fairly short amount of time in a particular city (ie. a layover). Also, this site will contain information that is helpful to the frequent traveler, or Road Warrior. We encourage you to post information regarding Airlines and their Frequent Flier Programs, as well as Hotels and their Hotel Programs.

Be sure to head over to Cafepress and pickup your Freight Dogs Anonymous - Order of the Sleepless Knights memorabilia. Click here for Cafepress.

It's easy to get started...

It's easy to get started creating an article on WikiAir. You can start by seeing if the city you are interested in already has an article created. Click on the Layover Cities link on the left side navigation box, and navigate to the city you would like information about. If there is no article created for that city yet, feel free to use the City Template and add whatever you would like! If there is already a page started, please feel free to edit, or add to it as you see fit! You can create an account so you can track your changes easier, and edit articles without being prompted to answer a captcha every time. Remember, it is easy to register, and FREE! To create an account click the "Boarding Pass (login) / Free Ticket (register)" link on the upper right hand corner of this page.

You can also use the search box on the left-hand column to search for anything on the site.

Check out this City Template to get started creating your first layover city. Or, use this Rewards Template to start working on a new rewards program! To use these pages as templates, just copy and paste them into your new page and edit the text as appropriate.

Help us add Google links to all of our city pages. It is easy, and kind of fun too! All you need to do is go to http://maps.google.com/ and then type in the city name you want to add a link for. Then click the "Link to this page" hyper link right above the map. This will put the correct http:// address in your web browsers address bar. Copy it. Then, go to the city you want to add the link to, and edit the page. You can check out Frankfurt or the City Template for an example of the exact entry.
