The Airport

San Francisco International Airport is the main international airport in San Francisco and the busiest in northern California.

The San Francisco Bay Area is also served by Oakland International Airport (OAK) and Norman Mineta San Jose International Airport (SJC). Airlines have cut back significantly in 2008 on routes to OAK.

Getting Around

  • BART

The Bay Area Rapid Transit system (BART) [1] is an extensive rapid rail system that links several towns and cities in the San Francisco Bay Area. Trains run regularly and on time, and the system is safe and clean with many well-placed stations.

BART has a station in the International Terminal. Take the Pittsburg/Bay Point train to downtown San Francisco. Get off at Powell Street for shopping, the cable cars, and Union Square. Get off at Embarcadero for the Ferry Building and the Ferry Plaza Farmers' Market.
