Hamburg Airport(German: Flughafen Hamburg-Fuhlsbüttel, IATA: HAM, ICAO: EDDH) is the international airport serving the port city of Hamburg. It is located around 8km north of the city centre and is a focus city for Air Berlin and Lufthansa.
It is also a major base for Lufthansa Technik, a Lufthansa subsidiary operating large maintenance facilities at the airport.

Ground Transportation

The airport can be reached from the A7 motorway and via local arteries (B432, B433, B447) and is accessible by bus from the city centre and the central railway station. A new suburban rail connection was scheduled to be completed in 2007, but due to problems with tunnel leakage this line will only open in 2008, cutting travel times from the city to about 15 minutes.
